The multi-year search for a suitable location
with ample parking, high ceilings, and affordable rent has resulted in an exciting destination at Dartmouth Plaza, behind the Lewes WAWA. The new venue allows expanded offerings of year-round programming, as well as a secure venue for the Rehoboth Beach Independent Film Festival (starting in 2016).

The venue consists of a professionally designed 104 seat main theater with comfortable, tiered seating, as well as a multi-purpose/screening room for smaller audiences and events. The Cinema Art Theater furthers the Film Society’s mission of promoting cinematic arts and providing education and cultural enrichment for our community.

The central location, accessible design, and ample parking makes the Cinema Art Theater a great destination for all film enthusiasts. We look forward to seeing you at future events.

The Film Society has raised $584,644 (83.5%) of the $700,000 project. Donations have been received from all RBFS Board members and employees, 209 RBFS members, 38 community members, and several Foundations and businesses.

The Film Society extends a sincere thanks to those who have already made a donation to help create the Cinema Art Theater. $115,000 is still needed and as many of you know, the final leg is the most challenging. If you would like to make a contribution, you can do so online here or you may mail a check to the RBFS office. All donations are 100% tax deductible.
